Bora-Ana Community Wildlife Conservancy Advances Local Climate and Biodiversity Action Through IKI-GIZ Small Grants

The Bora-Ana Community Wildlife Conservancy is proud to have been among the organizations supported through the IKI-GIZ Small Grants programme, an initiative that empowers local organizations to implement community-driven solutions for climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable natural resource management.

The opportunity to participate in this global programme has strengthened our commitment to protecting wildlife, conserving critical ecosystems, and improving the livelihoods of communities living alongside nature. Through the support provided by the IKI-GIZ Small Grants programme, we have enhanced our capacity to design and implement projects that respond to local environmental challenges while contributing to global climate and biodiversity goals.

At Bora-Ana Community Wildlife Conservancy, we believe that sustainable conservation begins with communities. Working closely with local residents, community leaders, women, youth, and conservation partners, we have promoted initiatives that encourage responsible natural resource management, habitat restoration, environmental awareness, and community participation in conservation efforts.

The programme has also provided valuable opportunities for institutional growth through technical training, mentorship, and knowledge exchange. These experiences have strengthened our ability to manage projects effectively, build strategic partnerships, and deliver lasting impact within our conservation landscape.

Climate change and biodiversity loss continue to present significant challenges for ecosystems and communities. However, through collaborative action and locally led solutions, we are building resilience while creating opportunities for sustainable development. Every project implemented reinforces the important role that community organizations play in safeguarding wildlife and natural resources for future generations.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the IKI-GIZ Small Grants programme for investing in grassroots organizations and recognizing the importance of locally led conservation. This support has enabled us to strengthen our work, empower our communities, and contribute meaningfully to national and global environmental objectives.

As Bora-Ana Community Wildlife Conservancy continues its conservation journey, we remain committed to protecting biodiversity, promoting climate resilience, and fostering sustainable livelihoods. We look forward to building on the knowledge, partnerships, and achievements gained through this programme to create an even greater positive impact for both people and nature.

Together, we are proving that local action is the foundation of global environmental change.
